Game Review: Crysis 2(short)
Crysis 2 is the second main entry in the crysis series.This first person shooter released in 2011 developed by Crytek and produced by EA.
Plot and presentation:
The game is set in the year of 2023 which is 3 years after the events of crysis(2007). This time the player takes the role of a Force Recon Marine named "Alcatraz".The story is told in a slow pace but its also quite engaging.Alcatraz gets the nanosuit which originally belonged to prophet and now he is on the mission to save humanity from the alien race called "Ceph".
Gameplay:
The gameplay of Crysis 2 is very fun and engaging. The settings are based on a post apocalyptic New York city. The stunning visuals adds more fun. Apart from the lengthy story line Crysis 2 is better than most of the first person shooters of its time. The battles are not very challenging at the beginning but as the game progresses they become harder. The customisation of the nano suit is also unique. Primarily there are only 3 modes which are armour, superhuman strength, and stealth. As the game continues more upgrades are unlocked. Defeating stronger aliens rewards you with more Nano catalysts, which are useful to upgrade nano suit.
The range of weapons in this game is also very wide. The player can choose weapons which suit him the best and can customise them according to his plan.
Visuals:
Crysis 2 is one of the best looking PS3 games and there's no denying about that. The power of CryEngine3 is full on display. The original Crysis was a technical beast. Very few systems could run Crysis in its max settings, but this time CryEngine 3 manages to satisfy the players with gorgeous visuals and at the same time it provides a steady frame rate. The visual effects are top notch.Lighting effects, water effects are beautiful. Crysis 2 also gave attention to the small details which made the textures and environment look better than ever.The game also have Battlefield's destructive environment.
Conclusion:
Apart from the extremely long campaign, crysis 2 is a very fun experience. The ratings are:
